For one of our latest issues, we collaborated with our friends from SMILE on Down Syndrome to model flower girl and junior bridesmaid dresses from Dillard’s. As some of you may know, Engaged Managing Editor Nikki Davis is the executive director for SMILE and is currently in her 10th year with the organization.
SMILE on Down Syndrome is committed to provide a network of support services to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, social and educational needs of people of all ages with Down syndrome, their families and communities. They have also expanded a majority of their services to those with autism and other cognitive disabilities. Programming offered by SMILE includes their nationally award winning Art Smart program, a dance troupe, their reading program, parent networking opportunities and more. Their vision is that all people with Down syndrome will be loved, respected, and accepted as valuable members of families and communities.
