John and Alison were close friends for many years in college but were always in relationships with other people. They had never considered a romantic relationship because their lifestyles were very different from each other and after college they went on separate paths. Almost a decade later, when both had come out of long-term relationships, they began hanging out again. The level of kindness, respect, and support they had for each other drew them close. They had both suffered tragedies and losses in their lives and always gave each other comfort and security. The more time they spent together, the more they realized they were in this relationship for the long haul. When John proposed, it was fitting, as their dogs had always been so important to them. John tied the engagement ring around one of their dog’s collar and told Alison to give the dog a goodbye kiss before leaving for dinner. As soon as she saw it, she said yes!
For their wedding ceremony they chose St. Mary’s Catholic Church and they chose City View for their reception. Alison loves antique pink garden roses and based the color scheme of the wedding décor around it. 90’s rap, Spice Girls and Mariah Carey made their wedding a throwback dance celebration as their family and friends shared in their long-awaited joy.
